Deviousness |
Your light parts are a bit over-exsposed, and your shadows under-developed, and it looks like you may have used the contrast tool quite a bit judging from the depth of shadow and the amount of noise visible. I think that if you converted this as-is to b/w it would be simply stunning.
I like -
- I like the angle of the photograph. I like the lighting of the photograph. and I've actually only just realised how far back it stretches! I like the sign and the person walking and also the rays of light coming through!
Improvements -
- For me, the only adjustment I would make is by cropping out the bit to the very left of the picture. For me, that hint of blue and red and the brickwork at the end ruins just a little.
[but overall very good]
If you ever get the chance to go there again on a sunny day, try to capture the same setting in a late afternoon light. I think this might even enhance the effect you achieved with this one, because the lighting will be softer and the single rays longer.
There are two other, albeit minor, details I noticed, which might enhance the effect of your picture: On the left margin you can see the background with some red and blue something there. It is a bit diverting, I think and maybe cropping it away would be benefiting. Also right on the base of the first column, there is a shadow (the head of a person?) which also kind of disturbs the overall steady linearity of the light/shadow contrast lines. All other columns don't have shadows in this spot, so removing the shadow might also benefit the clarity of your image. But as I've already said: Minor details. They can't ruin an overall good picture.
I know I'm picky - so feel free to be picky with my works now.
